According to Metro-Goldwin-Mayer, Deborah insisted on having tea on the set every afternoon at four. Usually she entertained a visitor or invited members of the cast and crew to join her in her dressing room.

Ruth Brown's successful appeal1542 viewsHelensburgh woman Mrs Ruth Brown, wife of ex-Scotland manager Bobby Brown, took ill in 1978 with a form of blood cancer, and when she received treatment at Glasgow's Western Infirmary she discovered that there was an urgent need for a blood cell processor unit to assist diagnosis of rare blood diseases. So she set up the Ruth Brown Blood Cell Processor Fund in April 1982, and in a year she and Bobby raised over £16,000 to buy the unit and accessories. Sadly she died soon after presenting the unit.

Queen's Hotel Ballroom1540 viewsA 1934 image of the Ballroom at the Queen's Hotel, where countless local dances, wedding celebrations and other events were held. The hotel was originally Baths House, built by Henry Bell, who built Europe's first commercial steamship the Comet in 1812. The building has had many alterations but still stands on East Clyde Street, having been converted into flats.
