Shandon Hydro1223 viewsThe Shandon Hydropathic Hotel. Originally West Shandon, this magnificent building was the home of Robert Napier, the greatest figure in Clyde shipbuilding and marine engineering in the mid-19th century. During World War One the Hydro became a hospital, and in World War Two it was used by the army. In 1951 it became a hotel again, but in 1957 it was closed and demolished. Image date unknown.

World record1221 viewsA multi-view postcard issued to mark Kaye Don setting a world water speed record on Loch Lomond on July 18 1932 in Miss England 111, when he was timed at 119.81 mph. On the back of the card it states: "Miss England 111 owned by Lord Wakefield, and driven by Kaye Don, cost £40,000 to build.
