The 30ft x 20ft building was at the east end of the ground and was erected early in the 20th century to replace the first pavilion, which was on the north side. The third pavilion, now a large clubhouse which has been expanded, is on the west side. He was an artist of no mean ability and often sketched his wife. The couple married on September 23 1932 in Ontario, San Bernadino, California. A son, John Allan, was born in 1935 but tragically died in 1944.
